When this song was kinda first making the rounds around the blogosphere, everyone though it was Skrillex/Feed Me combo. Not a bad mistake. It includes pretty much everything that Skrillex usually brings to his songs with the melodic dubstep of a Feed Me track. BUT it’s actually a song by a dude called Tezzeract. I hope he takes it as a compliment that he can make a song that could be mistaken for two very talented DJs. I think this song would live up to both of their expectations as one of their own. Enjoy this piece!

This is the anthem to my Saturday afternoon. Caroline doesn’t rely on any one element but on all elements working simultaneously. The sweet, brooding piano riff always coming in and out of consciousness, the trip-hop-esque rhythm, and Alex Clare just kills it with a powerful emotional ballad. Just beautiful.

Anything with Adele is worth a listen in my books but this remix is a cut above. The combination of Adele’s mournful, heart-breaking vocals and Panic City’s massive house hooks & club beats makes this sucker jam! I hate Jersey Shore as much as the next guy but you have to destroy the beat with this tune. Shameful? Maybe. You’ll understand when you let the drop kick. Enjoy!

I don’t think I’ve heard electro this dirty since MSTRKRFT released Fist of God. Those were the good days. Still no deets on when their album is going to come out. You can enjoy some nice new electro from Drivepilot in any case.

Here are some songs I’ve been listening to since the last time I posted, which, if you’re keeping track at home, has been a long ass time. Enjoy!

Tokyo Police Club recently did a little project called Ten Years, Ten Days, Ten Covers where they covered a song from each year of the 2000s each day. My personal favourite is the cover of All My Friends, which was of course originally done by LCD Soundsystem. Here’s all ten covers below, conveniently located in a handy-dandy Soundcloud player. Love it.
This is what dubstep used to be all about. Before dubstep was really even dubstep, when it was still at its underground rave roots and Skream was ready to bring it to the mainstream along with other master DJs. That halftime beat, that smooth piano background, that reverb, and that low-frequency wobble. Revolvr absolutely killed this track. Doesn’t get much better than this.

This is Crizzly’s first original that I’ve heard, and it doesn’t disappoint. His remixes are dirty and satifying and if this is a taste of his original stuff, its not too far off either. Crizz kicks this one into gear with a sweet drumpstep beat and an excellent use of samples. Crizzly is absolutely killing it, friends. Enjoy!

If you haven’t heard Adele’s newest single called Set Fire To The Rain, you might want to get familiar with it. Adele’s voice is as powerful as always. Just a great song, as per the usual, from Adele. Nothing like a good power ballad to get you going on this long weekend.
Set Fire To The Rain (Live At iTunes Festival) by Adele
Now that you’ve got an idea, it’s time to blow that rendition completely out of the water by upcomers Cazzette. This duo from Sweden have taken this song into new heights. Not too mention a new speed. It’s a little bit faster than the original, giving it some drive. Cazzette combines different genres to really come out with a tune that could be classified as dubstep, house, electro, etc. This is one is going to be a classic.
Adele – Set Fire To The The Rain (A Stupid Hole Bootleg) by Cazzette
Thomas Gold counters with an equally as banger take on Adele’s new single. This rendition is more rooted in the house field. Very much worth your time. Both tracks are just huge. Enjoy!

Mansions On The Moon are back with the follow-up single to the beautiful Darkness. And For Awhile doesn’t disappoint either. Picking up where Darkness left off, the ethereal melodies and vastness created by the wonderfully-mastered synths paints a beautiful picture. Reminds me a lot of jj actually. And some xx. Maybe they should change their name to mm. Lowercase, too. That’s not a typo.
